Ro-Ko, Vaibhav Suryavanshi shine in Vijay Hazare trophy

Indian star players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made a spectacular return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Both players not only scored centuries in their respective matches but also played a crucial role in securing victories for their teams. Virat Kohli was returning to the domestic tournament after 15 years, while Rohit Sharma was playing his first Vijay Hazare Trophy match in seven years.

Virat Kohli, playing for Delhi against Andhra Pradesh, scored 131 runs off 101 balls, including 14 fours and three sixes. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, played a blistering innings of 155 runs off 94 balls, which included 18 fours and 9 sixes.

Vaibhav and Sakibul’s record-breaking centuries help Bihar break world record

The first round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 season began today, December 24th. Several teams are playing against each other on the first day of the tournament, but the Bihar team has attracted the most attention, as they have teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi in their team.

Bihar team sets the highest List A score

The Bihar team faced Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi on Wednesday, December 24th, where they set the highest total score in the history of List A cricket. Their team scored 574 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Previously, this record was held by Tamil Nadu, who had scored a total of 506 runs in 2022.

Bihar captain scores the fastest century

In the same match, three Bihar players – Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Ayush Loharuka, and Sakibul Gani – scored record-breaking centuries. Two of these players, Vaibhav and Sakibul, also made history. Sakibul Gani completed his century in 32 balls, becoming the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in List A cricket. Vaibhav, who completed his century in 36 balls, slipped to fourth place on this list. He was previously in second place.
