Shikhar Dhawan announces retirement from cricket

Opener Shikhar Dhawan, who has been out of the Indian team for a long time, called it time on his cricketing career on Saturday morning. The flamboyant left-hander announced his retirement by posting a video on social media. He has retired not only from international cricket but also from domestic cricket. The right-handed batsman made many records in his career.

Shikhar Dhawan is the fastest Indian batsman to score 2000 and 3000 runs in ODIs. Not only this, he scored a century in his 100th ODI match. He is the first Indian batsman to achieve this feat. Dhawan is the only player to capture the Golden Bat twice in a row in the Champions Trophy. He is the highest run-scorer for the Indian batsman in the Champions Trophy 2013 and Champions Trophy 2017. Shikhar Dhawan was also the highest run-scorer for the Indian batsman in the ODI World Cup 2015.
