WTC: South Africa clean sweeps India 2-0 in Test series

India has suffered another humiliating defeat at home. South Africa defeated Team India 2-0 in the two-match Test series. The Proteas won the Kolkata Test by 30 runs and now the Guwahati Test by a massive 408 runs. The 408-run defeat is Team India’s biggest Test defeat. India has reached an all-time low in Test cricket at home. Meanwhile, world Test champion South Africa is creating history. It has won a Test series in India after 25 years. The last time South Africa won a Test series in India was in 2000.
This is the second time South Africa has clean swept India in a Test series. India’s humiliating record against the Proteas continues. In 2000, South Africa whitewashed India in a two-match Test series. The Proteas became the first team to clean sweep India in a Test series at home twice. Overall, India has been clean swept at home three times. Besides South Africa, New Zealand did the same last year.
India’s dominance on home soil ends
India has always struggled on foreign soil, i.e., SENA nations. However, before this series, Team India had performed brilliantly against the Proteas at home. India had won all four series against South Africa at home. Now, India’s dominance on home soil also appears to be ending. The Indian team has played a total of eight Test series against South Africa on home soil, winning four. Including these series, South Africa won two, and two were drawn. Meanwhile, India has played nine Test series on South African soil. South Africa won seven, and two were drawn.
