Instagram increases length duration for Reels

A big and good news has come for the video creators who upload videos on Instagram. Instagram users will now be able to create 3-minute long reels and upload them from their Instagram account. Till now, only a maximum of 90 seconds i.e. one and a half minutes of reels could be uploaded on Instagram, but now users will be able to create or upload reels of 180 seconds i.e. maximum 3 minutes.
Longer duration reels will be made on Instagram
Instagram head Adam Mosseri uploaded a video on his Instagram account and informed the users about this new feature. He said in his video, “Historically, the length of reels in Instagram has been only 90 seconds, as we wanted to keep Instagram as a short-form video platform, but we got a lot of feedback from many creators that 90 seconds is too short a time. That’s why we have taken this decision. We hope that increasing the time limit to three minutes will help you tell the stories you want to share in detail.” Now this app has become a vertical video platform, as are YouTube Shorts and TikTok. However, users can also upload videos of 60 minutes i.e. 1 hour on TikTok, but the maximum length for recording within the app is 10 minutes.
YouTube also increased the length of shorts
Just a few months ago, YouTube increased the length of its short videos from 90 seconds to 180 seconds i.e. a total of 3 minutes. Since then, YouTube Shorts also became a platform of vertical video category and not short video category.
Since then, Instagram users have also intensified the demand to increase the video length of reels. Many Instagram users said that 90 seconds are not enough for them to tell a long story or talk. Now Instagram has fulfilled the demand of the users and now users will be able to create 3-minute long reels.
