Shahid and Sharddha Kapoor arrive in Tehri to shoot for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’
Uttarakhand seems to have become a popular emerging destination for members of the the film fraternity. Earlier Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra had gone to Pithoragarh to shoot Sandeep aur Pinky farar. On Thursday, Actor Shahid Kapoor and actress Shraddha Kapoor arrived in Uttarakhand to shoot their upcoming film ‘Batti Gul, Meter Chalu’. Also accompanying them is actress Yami Gautam. The actors have come along with a team over nearly 150 crew members, who have left for Tehri from Jollygant Airport of Dehradun this afternoon. The film, centered on power theft, is proposed to be released on August 31. The film will be shot in Tehri, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie and Nainital.
According to the information, the shooting of the first phase of the movie has been completed in Mumbai. The second phase of shooting will be shot in Uttarakhand tomorrow. The film focuses on electricity theft in UP and Uttarakhand areas. In the film, Shahid Kapoor and Yami Gautam are in the role of an advocate, while Shraddha Kapoor has been cast opposite of Shahid. Shahid Kapoor is playing the role of Garhwali lawyer in the film. It is believed that he is learning Garhwali these days. Probably this will be the first time when a big league actor will use the Garhwali dialect on the big screen.
Many Hotel rooms have been booked in New Tehri for the stay of the film unit. The unit has obtained permission from the district administration and police administration for this. Municipal Commissioner Umesh Charan Gusani told that cleanliness has been done in the city of New Tehri. The city is completely ready for shooting.
