Motorists face ‘sweet’ fines in Rudrapur
Rudrapur/Udham Singh Nagar: Under the supervision of SSP Nilesh Anand Bharne traffic constables used a unique way to teach the offenders a lesson.
Offenders given flower garlands and sweets
On Thursday the traffic constables were seen giving flower garlands along with fine slips to the people who were not wearing helmets while riding two wheelers. On Friday, the garlands were replaced by sweets. The traffic police constables were also seen making aware the offenders about the traffic rules. The unique campaign was carried out in the prominent areas of the city like Indira Chowk, Kashipur Bypass Road, DD Chowk, Rampur Road, Kicha Road, Nainital Road and Kashipur Road. The SIDCUL police fined around 56 traffic offenders through this drive.

While ‘challans’ (fines) were being handed out in Rudrapur, the traders association joined hands with the police to create a traffic awareness among the citizens.
