Trade association chairman shot dead in Kashipur

48-year-old Deepak Verma son of Dharmaveer Verma, resident of Mohalla Shivnagar, has a shop named Dharma Jewelers on Kotwali road in Kashipur. Verma is presently the Chairman of the Board of Trade of Kashipur. As usual, he was returning home from the shop at 9 pm on Thursday night. On the way, three youths on a bike fired shots from a pistol injuring Verma in the process.
Three shots hit Deepak in the stomach, abdomen and his right arm. With that he fell down. When the other traders came out of the shop after hearing the bullet sounds, they saw Verma agonizing over the ground. They gave this information to the police. In addition, the injured was admitted to LD Bhatt Hospital.
In the meanwhile, there was a stir between the businessman and the police chief on information. Police reached the hospital where the incident took place. At the same time the doctors referred them to the Higher Center after the first treatment. The family admitted the injured to the MP Memorial Hospital located at Ramnagar Road.
Meanwhile, the businessmen and dignitaries of the city reached the hospital and took information of the injured. Later, ASP Dr Jagdish Chandra, CO Rajesh Bhatt and Kotwal Chanchal Sharma also reached the hospital and inquired about the incident.
