1000 rupee fine in Uttarakhand for pillion rider not wearing helmet

From September 1, double helmets will be necessary on bikes and scooters. If a person sitting behind a two-wheeler does not wear a helmet, then a fine of one thousand rupees will be imposed. The Central Government has fixed this fine in the revised Motor Vehicle Act. Although the state government may modify the penalty amount slightly, but a double helmet will be necessary.
Heavy penalty for not wearing seat belts
Seat belt rules have also been tightened. Along with the driver in the car, the co-passenger on the front seat will also have to wear a seat belt. In this, the amount of fine has been increased ten times. It has been increased from 100 rupees to one thousand rupees. ARTO Arvind Pandey said that the revised motor vehicle act required double helmets on the two-wheeler. This system will be implemented as soon as the Act comes into force.
