38th National Games conclude with grand ceremony

The closing ceremony of the 38th National Games was held at the International Sports Stadium, Golapar, Haldwani in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Indian Olympic Association President Dr P.T. Usha declared the 38th National Games closed. On this occasion, the Union Home Minister felicitated Services, Maharashtra and Haryana, who secured the first three positions.
Sports infrastructure ready in every district of Uttarakhand
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, while paying obeisance to the deities of the four Dhams of Uttarakhand, said that Chief Minister Dhami has prepared sports infrastructure in every district of Uttarakhand. He said that the Chief Minister has worked to bring Devbhoomi from 25th position to 7th position on the map of National Games. The winning players of Uttarakhand in the National Games have made Devbhoomi a sports land. The Union Home Minister congratulated all the winning players of Uttarakhand and wished them a bright future.
Uttarakhand’s hosting praised across the country
The Union Home Minister, while patting the back of the organizing committee and sports organizations of Uttarakhand, said that Uttarakhand is being praised all over the country for organizing the National Games. The whole country is praising the excellent arrangements made by Uttarakhand. Despite geographical difficulties, the state of Uttarakhand has accomplished this task efficiently under the leadership of CM Dhami. While wishing all the players of the 38th National Games, he said that defeat and victory have nothing to do with the game. The spirit of winning and not getting disappointed by defeat, this is the message of the game. There is a chance for the losing players to bring medals next time.
The Union Home Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, eco-friendly practices and eco-friendly games have been implemented in the National Games 2025. Plantation was done in the name of the players. Many new national records have been made by the players in the National Games, these records have raised hopes of medals for India in international games as well. He said that this torch of National Games will now go from Uttarakhand to Meghalaya. Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad Sangma has decided that by organizing some games in all the states of North East, the entire North East will be taken forward in the field of sports. Today, India’s reputation has increased on the world sports platform through sports infrastructure, coaching arrangements, encouragement to players and transparent selection in many districts across the country. The Union Home Minister said that the future of sports in India is bright. The Union Sports Minister has made arrangements to set new records in sports every time. He said that Prime Minister Modi has taken the youth forward in the field of sports through Fit India and Khelo India. Sports inspires us to move forward to win after losing.
India is ready to host the Olympics in 2036
The Union Home Minister said that through Khelo India, a small hill state like Uttarakhand has successfully completed such a big sporting event. This shows that every state of India is fully prepared to play and strengthen the sports infrastructure. From this state, now again the National Games is going to a hill state. Today players are preparing for many competitions. He said that India is ready to host the Olympics in 2036. In 2036, players from Uttarakhand will also bring medals in the Olympics and bring glory to the Indian flag.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that ‘on the occasion of the inauguration of the 38th National Games, we had received the blessings of the Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi ji. Today, on the occasion of the closing of these games, we are getting the company of the Home Minister of the country, Amit Shah ji. He said that in the silver jubilee year of the establishment of the state, the National Games were organized for the first time in Uttarakhand. In this great gathering of sports, more than 16 thousand athletes from all over the country participated in 35 sports disciplines and won a total of 448 gold, 448 silver and 594 bronze medals. Many records were set at the national level by many players and many champions who have the potential to represent India in the future have also emerged. In these games, while we have included our traditional sports like yoga and mallakhamb for the first time, we have also created a world record by organizing a river rafting competition at night.’
The Chief Minister said that ‘the National Games in Uttarakhand were organized on the theme of Green Games. Along with minimizing the use of plastic in this event, solar energy was also used for electricity. The medals given to the players were made from e-waste and the sports kits were made from recycled materials. E-vehicles were also used for transportation. It was decided to establish 2.77 hectares of forest area as ‘Khel Van’, in which Rudraksh trees will be planted in the name of every medal winning player.’
