BJP MLA’s to meet today to decide next CM of Uttarakhand
There is going to be a change of leadership once again in Uttarakhand. There will be a meeting of the party at three o’clock in the afternoon, in which the name of the new Chief Minister will be announced. For this, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has left for the state. Earlier, Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat submitted his resignation to Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya late last night.
The state is going to get its 11th CM. At present, four possible names are in discussion among the MLAs in the political circles for the post of Chief Minister. Among them, cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, besides cabinet minister Bishan Singh Chufal, MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami and Ritu Khanduri Bhushan are prominent in Trivendra and then Tirath Rawat cabinet. Or it may also be possible to see a new face emerge as the CM candidate.
Like the previous leadership change, if the BJP high command springs a surprise this time about the name of the Chief Minister, then BJP can play bets on non-MLAs too. Delegating the responsibility to any of the MPs may lead to the dissolution of the assembly two months before the completion of the six-month term as chief minister and recommending elections. In such a situation, the names of Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni, MPs Ajay Bhatt and Ajay Tamta can be considered by the central leadership.
