Chardham Yatra 2024: Doors of Badrinath temple closed for winter

The doors of Badrinath temple were closed for winter at 9:07 pm with the chanting of Jai Badrivishal by the devotees. The doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath Dham have already been closed. Now with the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham, the Char Dham Yatra 2024 has been concluded.

On the occasion of closing of the doors, about 10 thousand devotees who reached the Dham offered obeisance at Badrinath. After the closing of the doors, Badrinath Dham echoed with the chanting of Jai Badrivishal. Badrinath temple was decorated with 15 quintals of flowers for the occassion.

On Sunday, Badrinath temple remained open for the devotees to visit throughout the day. As before, the Abhishek Puja at the main temple started at 4:30 in the morning. Lord Badrinath was adorned with Tulsi and Himalayan flowers. The evening worship started at 6:45 in the afternoon. After worshipping and performing aarti of all the deities in Badrish Panchayat (Badrinath Sanctum Sanctorum), the idols of Uddhav Ji and Kuber Ji were brought out of the sanctum sanctorum.

The evening Aarti was performed at 8:10 pm. After that, the process of closing the doors began. Rawal Amarnath Namboodri, Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal, Vedpathi Ravindra Bhatt and Amit Bandolia completed the process of closing the doors. At 8:15 pm, Lord Badrinath was draped with a blanket of ghee prepared by the girls of Mana village and after lighting the eternal flame, the doors of Lord Badrinath were closed for the winter season at exactly 9:07 pm.
