Corona cases continue to create new record in Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, Corona’s havoc continues to grow. On Wednesday, the state received the highest number of 1953 new patients in a single day so far this year. While 13 infected people died for the second consecutive day. With this, the figure of active corona patients in the state has also crossed 10 thousand. According to Bulletin issued by Health Department, on Wednesday, Dehradun has the highest 796 cases, 525 cases were in Haridwar, 205 in Nainital, 118 in Udham Singh Nagar district, 205 in Nainital district, 92 in Almora, 6 in Chamoli, 8 in Chamoli, 28 in Champawat, 79 in Pauri, 4 in Pithoragarh, 6 in Rudraprayag, 78 in Tehri, 8 in Uttarkashi. The number of infections found in the state on Wednesday is the second largest number of infections found in a single day.
Since the onset of corona infection in the state, the number of patients found in a single day so far is 2078, which was found on 19 September 2020. For the last two days, the number of patients in the state has been hovering around this figure. The rate of infection in the state is 3.59 percent while the recovery rate of patients is close to 87 percent. On Wednesday, 483 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state after being cured, due to which the figure of those recovering has crossed 99 thousand.
13 patients died for the second consecutive day
For the second time in a row, 13 infected people died on Wednesday after a corona infection in the state. With this, the total death toll in the state has reached 1793. On Wednesday, 12 deaths were reported from patients admitted to hospitals in Dehradun district. While a patient died in the hospital in Haridwar. A total of 58 containment zones have been created in the state to prevent corona infection, out of which 30 zones are in Dehradun district alone. The number of containment zones in Nainital is also increasing steadily and this number has reached 22. Five containment zones have been set up in Haridwar and one in Pauri. On Wednesday, more than 47 thousand samples were sent from various districts and hospitals of the state for testing, while more than 43 thousand samples have been reported. The report of more than 23 thousand samples is yet to come.
Transmission rate near 13 percent in the capital
The rate of corona infection in the capital Dehradun has been increasing continuously for the past one week. The situation is that on Wednesday, the rate of infection in the capital has crossed 12 percent and has reached close to 13 percent. In a way, Dehradun has become the biggest hot spot in the state. Due to the large number of patients, the health department and administration have an increased problem in ther hands. Despite this, the number of tests in the capital is not being increased. The rate of corona infection in Dehradun on April 9 was five and a half percent. Which increased to 8 percent on 10 April, 10 percent on 11 April, 10 percent on 12 April, 11 percent on 13 April, and the infection rate has reached 12.76 on 14 April.
