Dehradun-Kathgodam, Dehradun-Prayagraj Link Express to run daily
Dehradun-Prayagraj Link Express and Dehradun-Kathgodam Express will now carry passengers on a daily basis, and not for five days a week. Railway Board has ordered to run both the trains seven days a week. Link Express will run daily from August 10, while Kathgodam Express will run daily from August 8.
According to Station Superintendent Shashank Sharma, at present the Dehradun-Prayagraj Express was being operated on Mondays, Tues, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while Dehradun-Kathgodam operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Commuters were facing problems as both the trains operated five days a week. Keeping in view the facilities of the passengers, the Railway Board has decided to operate both the trains daily. With the onset of Corona, at first the Railway Board had stopped the operation of all trains operating from Doon. After the situation became normal regarding Corona, the operation of all the trains was started by the Railway Board.
In view of the difficulties of the passengers, it was decided to operate the Doon-Prayagraj Link Express and Dehradun-Kathgodam Express for five days, but now the board has given facilities to the passengers by operating both the trains for seven days. While Haridwar, Moradabad, Aligarh, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Prayagraj passengers travel by Link Express, a large number of passengers travel to Kathgodam, Haldwani by Doon-Kathgodam Express.
