Dhami government increases the retirement age of specialist doctors from 60 to 65 years

The state government led by CM Dhami has given a new year gift to specialist doctors. The government has given service benefits to specialist doctors and increased their retirement age. Specialist doctors will now be able to provide their services till the age of 65 years. Earlier this age limit was 60 years. Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that orders have been issued to increase the age limit by five years. He said that 550 specialist doctors of the state will benefit from the increase in the age limit. This decision of the government will overcome the shortage of specialist doctors in the state and remote villagers will also be able to get the benefit of specialist doctors.
Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that the state government is committed to providing better health services to the public. Health services are being improved rapidly in the state. In such a situation, the government has decided to give five years of service extension to specialist doctors. He said that service benefits will be given only to those specialist doctors who will provide their services to patients in hospitals.
According to Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, after completing the age of 60 years, no specialist doctor will be given charge of administrative post and financial responsibilities, and they will be deployed as Chief Consultant on the available vacant posts of their discipline under the framework. He said that such medical officers will not be given further promotion. The doctor will be allowed salary increment and other service benefits during service and on retirement as per rules like government employees.
