Amidst the ever-increasing heat in the state, there has been a record demand for electricity. For the first time, the demand for electricity in the state has crossed the 52 million units mark. UPCL is constantly trying to procure power, but even then, it is facing a lot of trouble to meet the shortfall of five to six MU power from the market.

On Tuesday, in the midst of heavy heat in the state, there was huge demand for electricity. Despite efforts, full power was not available, due to which power cuts had to be made in rural, small towns and furnace industries. However, UPCL claims that every effort is being made to control the power cuts.
