Mining to be done in Gaula river till June 30, High Court approves Nainital-Ranibagh ropeway project

Mining will be possible till June 30 in Gaula river of Haldwani division. The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has given its permission. For this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had requested the ministry. On the other hand, the way for the Nainital-Ranibagh ropeway project has been cleared. The High Court has approved it.

In the current session, the period of permission for extraction of minor minerals in the Gaula river was expiring. The Chief Minister had also requested the ministry to extend the permission during his stay in New Delhi. According to the order of the Ministry, there is a ban on the collection of minor minerals from October 1 to May 31. The ministry had granted its exemption on the Gaula river. It has now been extended till June 30, 2023. With this decision, the government will get a benefit of Rs 50 crores and the local people will get employment and building materials will be available.

The Nainital-Ranibaug ropeway project, which is considered to be the dream project of the Chief Minister, has also got the green signal from the High Court. The court has ordered the construction of the project on the basis of scientific survey. With the construction of this ropeway, there will be relief from traffic jam. Coming and going to Nainital will also be easy.
