New corona SOP to be issued soon in Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand has also become alert regarding the new variant of Corona virus. New SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) will be issued soon following the guidelines of the Central Government. Director General of Health Dr. Shailja Bhatt has also instructed all districts to send 10 percent samples of corona infected for genome sequencing.
Uttarakhand has also issued instructions to the districts for genome sequencing along with increasing monitoring following the guidelines of the central government due to the rapid increase in the cases of corona infection in many countries including China. Director General of Health Dr. Shailja Bhatt, after holding a meeting of departmental officers, instructed the CMO that genome sequencing of 10 percent samples of corona infected should be compulsorily done. So that new strains of corona can be detected. It was told that the old form of Omicron still has influence in the state. No new variant of the virus has been found.
Old variant of Omicron is active in the state
Genome sequencing of infected samples is being done at Doon Medical College by the Health Department to find out the new form of corona virus. In this, it was found that the Omicron variant revealed in the third wave of Corona is active in the state.
Genome sequencing will start soon in Almora Medical College
So far, genome sequencing of infected samples is being done in the State Medical College, Dehradun itself to detect new variants of the corona virus. Soon genome sequencing will also be done in Almora Medical College. A lab is being set up for this. Presently 12 government labs are established for covid testing. Apart from this, Covid tests are also being done in more than 30 private pathology labs.
Four corona infected cases found in the state
There is a normal situation of corona infection in the state. On an average, two to three infected cases are being reported daily. According to the report of the Health Department, 350 samples were tested across the state on Wednesday. Four people were found corona infected in this. At present the number of active patients is 29. On the basis of sample testing, the infection rate in the state is 1.14 percent and the recovery rate is 96 percent.
So far more than 4.49 lakh people have been infected
The first case of corona in the state was found on March 15, 2020 in Dehradun. Since then, more than 4.49 lakh people have come under the grip of corona infection in the state. In this, more than 4.31 infected have become healthy. 7751 people have died in the state due to Corona.
