Over 100 Covid deaths in Uttarakhand for second consecutive day

Uttarakhand witnessed more than a hundred deaths due to Covid for the second consecutive day. On Saturday, 5493 new patients have also appeared across the state, while 107 people lost their lives during this period. According to the Health Bulletin, with 5493 new patients were reported on Saturday, the number of active patients in the state has also reached 51,127. In this way, the challenge of taking care of more than 50 thousand patients is standing before the health services. Of the total 107 deaths on Saturday, the maximum 18 were in Haldwani Medical College, while 16 patients died in Doon Hospital and HIHT Jolly Grant and 16 in Max Dehradun during this period.

Testing increased in Dehradun

After a long time on Saturday, the number of tests in Dehradun has reached near 10,000. With this, after the end of Kumbh, now regular checks in Haridwar have started to decrease. On Saturday, 35,058 samples were sent from across the state, including 11,526 from Dehradun, 7927 from Haridwar and 1942 from US Nagar. On Saturday, most new cases were also found in these three districts. During this period, 2266 new cases were reported in Dehradun, 810 in Nainital and 578 in Haridwar. A total of 2731 people have died in the state so far, out of which 1549 deaths have been reported in Dehradun district. With this, the number of active cases in Dehradun has also crossed 17413.

Immunization campaign intensified

The government has also intensified the vaccination campaign amid all-round outcry. In this sequence, 70,175 people were vaccinated on Saturday. The number of people with two doses has now reached 4,23,097 in the state.
