PM Modi inaugurates 38th National Games in Uttarakhand

The 38th National Games have started in Uttarakhand. The games were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 28. On this occasion, colorful programs were organized at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. In which the famous Pandavas band of Uttarakhand gave a powerful performance. During the opening ceremony, PM Modi took introduction from Olympic players like Jaspal Rana, Lakshya Sen, Manish Rawat, Subhash Rana and Manoj Sarkar. At the same time, 2500 students of Haridwar Shantikunj started the Uttarakhand National Games with Shankhnaad.
In the opening ceremony held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, badminton player Lakshya Sen handed over the torch ‘Tejaswini’ of the 38th National Games to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After which it was installed on the stage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that ‘a glimpse of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is visible here. Green Games are being held here and medals are being prepared from e-waste. Today the sports environment is being promoted in the country. Many national level games like Khelo India, University Games are being organized.’
PM Modi said that the Olympics boost the tourism and economy of the country. Just like Uttarakhand is benefiting from the National Games, the country will also benefit from the Olympics. The National Games are being organized in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. People who will come to Uttarakhand will also go to other places in the state. This will increase the economy here. This will open up employment opportunities.
Players should go after enjoying adventure and winter tourism
Apart from this, PM Modi said that Uttarakhand will have to make more ways for development. He also said that Uttarakhand is his second home, he wishes that he comes to Uttarakhand during the winter trip. He also urged the players to enjoy adventure and winter tourism in Uttarakhand. They should go with information about culture and food. He urged the players that their medals should make India see the shine of unity and superiority.

9,545 players are participating in the National Games 2025. The maximum number of players, 700, are in athletics. 128 players are participating in triathlon, 240 in kho-kho, 390 in wushu, 400 in shooting, 240 in badminton, 352 in football, 136 in rafting, 192 in rugby, 160 in weightlifting, 192 in squash, 208 in boxing, 272 in yoga, 288 in archery, 240 in rowing, 360 in hockey, 100 in lawn tennis, 352 in netball, 320 in modern pentathlon, 350 in gymnastics, 700 players are participating in athletics. Apart from this, 136 players are participating in table tennis, 264 in fencing, 253 in judo, 288 in wrestling, 220 in clear pattu, 192 in mallakhamb, 112 in lawn bowling, 588 in acoustics, 432 in cycling, 224 in canoeing and kayaking, 416 in handball, 288 in kabaddi, 256 in volleyball and 256 in basketball.
Uttarakhand gets hosting of National Games for the first time
Uttarakhand has got hosting of National Games for the first time. This is the 38th National Games. The previous National Games were held in Goa. Venues have been prepared at various places for the National Games to be held in Uttarakhand. There will also be day-night competitions on the ground.
