Rescue operation completed, bodies of four missing workers found, death toll rises to eight

All the people who were caught in the avalanche near Mana on the China border on Friday have been found, out of which 46 are safe, while eight died. The rescue team has recovered the bodies of all four missing workers on Sunday. While the bodies of four workers were recovered on Saturday. At the same time, another injured has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh on Sunday, while an injured worker was referred on Saturday. With this, the rescue operation that was going on for three days also ended.
A massive avalanche occurred near Mana in the early hours of Friday, in which 54 BRO workers were trapped. ITBP and Army personnel started the rescue operation on Friday morning. On the first day, 33 workers were rescued safely. On Saturday, NDRF also joined the rescue operation. By Saturday, the rescue teams had rescued 46 workers safely, while the bodies of four workers were recovered. After that, the three rescue teams again conducted a search operation on Sunday to search for the four other workers who were still missing.
First a body was recovered at around 1 pm. After that the bodies of two other workers were also recovered. The body of the last missing person was recovered at around 4 pm. After which the death toll in the accident increased to eight. The rescue operation was also ended with the recovery of the last person’s body.
Injured admitted in Jyotirmath Army Hospital
All the workers from Mana have been brought to the Army Hospital in Jyotirmath by helicopter. Efforts are also being made to bring the last body found. In this rescue operation, the help of seven army and one private helicopter was taken. Through which the workers were brought from Mana to Jyotirmath. Two workers were sent to AIIMS Rishikesh. Others are undergoing treatment in Army Hospital Jyotirmath.
