State employees get major LTC benefits boost

The Uttarakhand government has given a big gift to the state employees. The government has revised the rates of Leave Travel Concession (LTC). On Wednesday, the cabinet approved its proposal.

For a long time, employees were demanding changes in LTC rates. Under the latest changes, now employees earning level-10 or more salary will get air travel facility and AC first class fare for rail travel. Employees from level 6 to 9 will get AC-2 fare for rail travel. Employees from level 1 to 5 will get AC-3 fare for rail travel.

The state government provides LTC facility to state employees and their families once in every 10 years of service on completion of minimum five years of government service by the state government employee. Making important amendments in another point of LTC, now the compulsion of state employees to take minimum 15 days of earned leave has been abolished and it has been made minimum five days or the actual travel period, whichever is higher.

State Employees Joint Council State President Arun Pandey and State General Secretary Shakti Prasad Bhatt welcomed this decision and thanked the Chief Minister. They hoped that soon the government will take a big decision regarding other important demands of the council such as ACP on 10, 16, 26 years of service as before, revision of travel allowance and vehicle allowance rates of state employees. State employees have been demanding this for a long time.
