These consumers eligible for 50 percent subsidy on electricity bills in the state

CM Dhami led state government will give 50 percent subsidy to consumers who consume up to 100 units of electricity per month in the state. For high Himalayan areas, this metric will be up to 200 units. This facility will be available to consumers with electricity load up to 01 kilowatt. About 11 lakh 50 thousand consumers will get the benefit of this scheme. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave many gifts to the people of the state in a program organized at Mukhya Sevak Sadan on the occasion of his birthday on Monday, September 16.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 05 ADB funded projects of PTCUL. These 05 projects include construction work of 220 kV GIS substation Selaqui and related lines, construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Araghar and related lines, construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Lohaghat and related lines, construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Dhaulakheda and related lines and construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Khatima II and related lines.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the work of installation of 16 lakh smart meters under the centrally funded RDSS scheme in UPCL projects Garhwal and Kumaon region and the work of undergrounding the electricity lines of the main routes of Dehradun city under the Uttarakhand Climate Resilient Power System Development Project externally aided by ADB. An amount of about 977 crores will be spent on this. During the program, the Chief Minister handed over possession letters and keys to 101 beneficiaries of the buildings of Lakshmi Awas Yojana Shikarpur, Roorkee, Haridwar constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is working rapidly in every field for the sustainable development of Uttarakhand. He said that the power projects whose foundation stone has been laid today will further improve the supply and distribution system of electricity in the state. This will boost industries in the state as well as increase employment. This will give a stronger base to the economy of the state. Smart meters will strengthen the energy supply system and will also solve the billing related problems of the general public. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously moving forward on the path of development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
