Uttarakhand cabinet approves upto 80% subsidy on these crops

The state government will give up to 80 percent subsidy on the cultivation of apple, kiwi, coarse grains and dragon fruit in Uttarakhand. With the aim of promoting farming based on market demand in the state, the state cabinet approved several important proposals. Under this, the proposal of Kiwi Policy of Uttarakhand has also been approved by the cabinet.
25 proposals were discussed in the state cabinet meeting held till late evening at the state secretariat on Monday. Secretary Council of Ministers Shailesh Bagoli said that under the Kiwi policy approved in the meeting chaired by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government has set a target of producing 33 thousand metric tonnes of kiwi in an area of 3300 hectares in the state by 2030-32. Currently, 381 metric tonnes of kiwi is being produced in 682 hectares. Under the policy, a subsidy of 50 to 70 percent will be given.
The cabinet will get up to 60 percent grant for setting up sorting and grading unit under the Chief Minister Micro Food Enterprise Upgradation Scheme. At the same time, the management plan has been approved after the plucking of apples.
Subsidy increased in dragon fruit cultivation
The cabinet has approved the scheme to promote dragon fruit cultivation. Under this, dragon cultivation in one acre will cost Rs 8 lakh. For this, a provision of subsidy up to 80 percent has been made in the scheme.
Coarse grains policy also approved
The cabinet has approved the Uttarakhand State Coarse Grains Policy. In the policy, 80 percent subsidy will be given on selected coarse grain seeds and bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, zinc, micronutrients. In the first phase, from 2025-26 to 2027-28, coarse grains will be cultivated on 30 thousand hectares of area in 24 selected development blocks, in the second phase from the year 2028-29 to 2030-31 in 44 development blocks.

10 lakh students studying in class 1st to 12th in government and non-government schools of the state will get free copies. The cabinet has approved the proposal. Till now there was a provision to give free books to these children in the state.
Powers of DM, Divisional Commissioners increased
The cabinet has increased the financial powers of District Magistrates and Divisional Commissioners in the works done under disaster management. In case of disaster, the District Magistrate will now have the right to spend up to one crore rupees in relief and rescue operations. District Magistrates till now had the right up to 20 lakh rupees. Similarly, the financial powers of the Divisional Commissioner to deal with the disaster have been increased from one crore to five crore rupees.

- Resident Welfare Association will now be able to take the area of road, park etc. from the promoters, 10 thousand discount in stamp duty in agreement.
- Approval to notify flood area from Shikhar Fall to Mothrowala on the banks of Rispana Bridge in Dehradun.
- Approval to increase the salary of model assistant in scientific cadre from 1900 to 2400 rupees in Irrigation Department.
- For 24% of the posts of promotion from Tubewell Mistry to JE in Irrigation Department, the qualification will be ITI instead of diploma.
- Under UCC, the Sub Registrar of Stamp and Registration Department will now be authorized for registration of marriage and divorce along with will.
