Uttarakhand gets fresh spell of snowfall

The hills of Uttarakhand are covered with fresh spell of snow. Tourist numbers as expected to increase over the weekend with fresh snowfall in popular hill stations of Uttarakhand. Pictures of tourists enjoying the snowfall are coming in from different places. The Meteorological Department had also expressed the possibility of snowfall in Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh and snowfall was seen in many parts of the state this morning.

According to meteorologists, there will be a change in the weather due to the activation of Western Disturbance. According to the report of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of one degree was recorded in Mukteshwar for the second consecutive day.

At the same time, the minimum temperature in Pantnagar was five degrees. Snow has increased the cold in the higher Himalayan regions. Milam, Panchachuli including Khaliyatop of Munsiyari received one inch of snowfall. After snowfall in Khaliatop, the maximum temperature of Munsiyari has been recorded at minus two degrees Celsius.

Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that in the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of snowfall in areas with a height of more than 2500 meters. The effect of rain and snowfall in the mountainous areas is also visible in the plains. In such a situation, the cold has increased in the plains.

Even in the capital Dehradun, it is getting cold today. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 15 degrees. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has asked people to be alert.

In Chamoli district, snowfall continues in high altitude areas including Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers Auli, Joshimath, Rudranath. Second snowfall of the season in Jaunsar Bawar. Apart from this, there is heavy snowfall in Laltibba, Dhanaulti, Buranshkhanda of Mussoorie. There has been light snowfall in the higher reaches of Chakrata.
