Uttarakhand high court stays UKPSC PCS Mains 2025

This is big news for thousands of aspirants preparing for government jobs. The Uttarakhand High Court has stayed the UKPSC PCS Mains 2025 examination. The reason is some controversial questions in the preliminary exam, which were objected to by the candidates. The court stated that it would not be appropriate to conduct the Mains examination until these questions are thoroughly investigated and the merit list is revised. It is noteworthy that the Uttarakhand PCS Mains 2025 examination was scheduled to be held from December 6th to 9th, but has now been postponed indefinitely.

Four Preliminary Exam Questions Caused the Problem

The matter escalated when candidates, including Kuldeep Kumar Rathi and Keshavanand, filed a petition in the High Court. They alleged that some questions asked in the preliminary examination held in June 2024 had serious discrepancies and ambiguous options. The petitioners initially challenged four questions, but ultimately focused on question number 70 of set ‘A’, and the court, agreeing with their argument, ordered the removal of question 70.

The petitioners’ lawyer told the court, “We challenged a crucial question in the preliminary examination. The court accepted our arguments and ordered the removal of that question. If this mistake hadn’t occurred, our clients would have qualified for the Mains exam.” Both petitioners were just one step away from qualifying for the Mains examination, which made the matter even more sensitive.
