Uttarakhand weather update: Heavy rain expected in four districts during next 24 hours, Orange alert issued
Heavy rain is expected in four districts of Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Bageshwar, Tehri, Dehradun and Pithoragarh. Here a warning has been issued for thunder, lightning and intense, very intense spells of rain. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Department, said that till July 9, the weather in these districts will remain like this. There is a possibility of heavy to heavy rain here.
127 roads still closed in the state
Out of 179 roads blocked due to heavy rains and landslides in the state, 52 have been opened for traffic, while 127 are still closed. Action is being taken by PWD to open these roads.
Due to heavy rains, there was a problem in the work of opening the roads on Wednesday. Chief Engineer PWD Deepak Yadav said that 127 roads were closed in the state till Wednesday late evening, for the opening of which 119 JCB, Poklen, chain dozer etc. machines have been prominently installed on the spot.
It is raining continuously in many areas of Uttarakhand. It has been raining heavily since night in Roorkee and surrounding areas. Due to this rain, there has been water-logging in the cities. It is raining intermittently since last evening in Kotdwar and surrounding areas. The rains have forced people to remain in their homes.
