Uttarakhand weather update: Heavy rains expected in many areas including Kumaon

The game of hide and seek between sunshine and clouds continues in Uttarakhand. There is also heavy rainfall expected in some places in the state. Especially in Kumaon, heavy rainfall continues in most areas amid dense clouds. Dehradun also witnessed heavy rainfall in the evening after partial clouds hovering since morning. Heavy rainfall in many areas of the city also led to waterlogging at many places.

According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, the state may remain partially cloudy today. There are chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some places in Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar of Kumaon region. An orange alert has been issued regarding this.

Heavy rain may occur with thunderstorms

At the same time, there may be periods of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in other districts including Dehradun. Periods of heavy rainfall are also continuing in Doon. On Sunday, the sun also shone in Doon amid partial clouds since morning, although dense clouds gathered in the sky after noon. There was light drizzle at some places along with thunder. By evening, there were showers in some areas. However, around 4:30 pm, heavy rain started in most areas of the city which continued till early morning on Monday.
