Uttarakhand weather update: Know weather forecast for next 5 days

Uttarakhand has received heavy rain and snowfall in January. Due to which, the chill increased in the state. The weather will remain clear in the state on Friday. However, there may be frost in the mountains, fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, there was heavy snowfall in the Harshil valley along with the peaks of Gangotri and Yamunotri on Thursday morning. The Gangotri Highway remained blocked from Suki Top to Gangotri on Thursday. There was snowfall again in Auli, a tourist destination in Chamoli. There was also snowfall in Rudraprayag and other places including Kedarnath. The fourth snowfall of the season also occurred on the high peaks of Chakrata.

Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center Dehradun, said that the weather will change again after Friday. There is a possibility of light rain in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts from 18 to 22 January.
After light rain in the morning in Dehradun, the sky remained cloudy throughout the day and cold winds kept blowing. Due to this, the temperature dropped by six degrees. While on Wednesday the maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded five degrees above normal i.e. 23.8 degrees, on Thursday it came down by 6.2 degrees i.e. 17.6 degrees Celsius. The pollution level was recorded in the moderate category. The AQI was 156 on Thursday.
