Uttarakhand weather update: Last day of August was the hottest day of the month

Monsoon rains have reduced in Uttarakhand for the time being. Most of the areas of the state are experiencing partly cloudy weather along with sunshine for the last two days. At some places, there are also light showers. However, the mercury has also risen due to bright sunshine in Dehradun and surrounding areas. Saturday was the hottest day of August in Doon valley.

On the other hand, August 29 was the coldest night of August. Then the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.4 degrees Celsius, which was the lowest in August of any year after 2014. But, after this, the temperature started rising due to bright sunshine in two days and the heat increased. In just two days, the maximum and minimum temperatures of Doon have increased by three to four degrees Celsius.

For the last two days, the rains have been slow in Doon and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains at some places with thunderstorms in Doon today.

Yellow alert in five districts

According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, there is a possibility of partial cloud cover from the mountains to the plains in the state today. During this time, there may be rains with thunder and lightning in Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat. A yellow alert has been issued regarding this. There are chances of partial cloud cover and light showers in other districts.
