Uttarakhand weather update: Rain alert issued for next 3 days in these districts

Monsoon is fully active in Uttarakhand for the past few days. From today (June 29) to the next three days, a warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in seven districts of the state. While there are chances of heavy rain in many other districts as well. Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said that from June 29 to July 1, a red alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts including Doon.
While an alert for several rounds of heavy rain has been issued in some parts of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts as well. While instructing the people, he said that in these three days, waterlogging, landslides can occur and the water level of rivers and streams can increase. In such a situation, be more cautious during the day as well as night and avoid going near rivers and streams. Apart from this, avoid traveling in mountainous areas if not necessary.
Water level of Alaknanda river increased in Srinagar
Meanwhile, the water level of Alaknanda river is increasing in Srinagar. The administration has alerted the people living on the river banks. Rain has wreaked havoc in the state. After the rain, debris has come on the roads at many places. Due to this, more than 72 routes have been closed. The maximum 21 routes are in Chamoli district.
Karnaprayag Nainital highway has been closed due to debris in the stream near Randoli. During this, a large number of people are stuck on both sides of the highway. Many people are crossing the road through the debris. The Yamunotri Highway and Gangotri highways have also been blocked in many places due to falling debris from the hills. As a precautionary measure the administration has decided to suspend the Chardham Yatra for one day.
