Uttarakhand weather update: Rain and Thunderstorms expected on April 29

The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to change once again. While on one hand the scorching sun and heat have made people miserable in most parts of the state at this time, drops of relief are going to fall in the coming days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that an active western disturbance is ready to knock in the state from April 29, due to which there is a possibility of rain and storm again in the entire state.
Temperatures on the rise
The heat of the sun has now started showing its effect in the plains of the state. In areas like Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, crowds disappear on the roads as the day progresses. In the hilly areas too, heat is now being felt during the day, although mild cold still persists at night.
Weather expected to change from April 29
According to the IMD forecast, light rain may start in hilly districts like Pithoragarh, Champawat and Nainital on April 29. After this, from April 30 to May 2, the weather is expected to be disrupted across the state and there is a possibility of heavy rain. During this time, along with heavy rain, strong winds and thunder are also expected in some places.
Yellow alert and precaution
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for all the rest of the districts of the state except Haridwar on April 30. Strong winds of 30 to 40 km per hour, along with lightning and hailstorms are expected. People have been appealed to be cautious during bad weather and not to go out unnecessarily.
