Uttarakhand weather update: Rain forecast for these districts
The weather has changed again in Uttarakhand and most areas are covered with clouds. Heavy rains are occurring in many areas including Dehradun.
According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains with thunder and lightning in six districts including Dehradun and Nainital on Monday (July 28). There are also chances of lightning and heavy showers in the remaining districts.
On Saturday, the sun shone brightly throughout the day in Doon and surrounding areas and the heat made people sweat. However, clouds started hovering in the sky at night and there were chances of rain.
More than 30 mm rainfall in many places in Doon
On Sunday morning, rains started with light showers in most areas, which turned into heavy rain in the afternoon. More than 30 mm rainfall was recorded at many places in Doon.
Due to the change in the weather, a drop in mercury was also recorded. Within 24 hours, the maximum temperature of Doon dropped by five degrees Celsius. At the same time, two to three rounds of rain in the hilly areas also led to a drop in mercury.
