Uttarakhand weather update: Rain forecast in 5 districts

There seems to be no respite from rains in the coming days as per the forecast for Uttarakhand. Temperatures dropped due to light rain in the lower areas. At the same time, there are chances of heavy rain on Friday (August 15) as well. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in some parts of Pauri, Nainital, Bageshwar and Champawat districts including Dehradun. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain with lightning in other districts. As per the forecast for the coming days, an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain has been issued in some areas of Dehradun, Bageshwar and Nainital districts on August 16. While there is a possibility of heavy rain across the state till August 18.

The Hydromet Division of the Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding the possibility of floods on Friday (till 11:30). It has expressed the possibility of floods in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal and Uttarkashi. After this, the State Disaster Management Authority has sent a letter to all the District Magistrates asking them to alert the people and take all precautions and be vigilant.
