Uttarakhand weather update: Weather expected to change on 19 & 20 Feb
There is a possibility of light rain in some places in the mountainous districts of Uttarakhand today (19 February). According to the Meteorological Department, seven districts including Dehradun may receive light to moderate rain, while the weather will remain dry in other districts. Light to moderate snowfall is likely in areas with an altitude of more than 3300 m. Apart from this, a forecast of snowfall in high altitude areas along with rain has been issued in the state from 20 to 21 February.
From today, once again the weather may change and it may become cold. According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is visible in the Himalayan Western Himalayan region from February 19, due to which there is a possibility of rain. The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of snowfall in high altitude areas along with rain in the state on February 20, 21 and 22. This has created the possibility of cold returning once again.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for strong winds with thunder for February 20. Due to the disappearance of moisture from the forests, incidents of arson have also started happening. The forests that are burning right now are also increasing the heat.
Light rain forecast in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be very light to light rain at some places in Uttarkashi district in Garhwal division. The same will be the case in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Dehradun districts. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has predicted very light to light rain in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts of Kumaon division.
