Weather update: Rain forecast in these 7 districts on 20 February

The weather is likely to change in Uttarakhand from today. The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of rain with hailstorm in Dehradun, Tehri, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar, while light rain is expected in other districts.
Due to bright sunshine in Dehradun for the last two days, the temperature increased and heat was felt, but due to rain today and tomorrow, the temperature may drop. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in Dehradun today, while the sky may remain cloudy on Friday. Light rain with thunder and lightning is possible in some areas and cold winds are also expected.
On Wednesday, Dehradun had bright sunshine since morning, due to which it started getting very hot. However, the weather started changing after noon and clouds started hovering from late evening and there was a possibility of rain.
The maximum temperature of Dehradun was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. However, the mercury dropped in the evening, while the minimum temperature was 9.2 degrees Celsius. Udham Singh Nagar recorded 26.0 and minimum temperature 5.4 degrees Celsius. Mukteshwar recorded a maximum temperature of 17.7 and minimum temperature 3.6 degrees Celsius. New Tehri recorded a maximum temperature of 18.6 and minimum temperature 5.6 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Center, the western disturbance has become active again in the Himalayan region, the effect of which will be visible till Friday. Today, there is a possibility of snowfall in areas above 2800 meters along with rain in seven districts. Strong winds will also blow in some parts. On Thursday, the effect of rain will be more visible, while on Friday the effect of rain will be less in most areas.
