Weather update: Snowfall in high altitude places including Auli-Badrinath

Snowfall occurred in high altitude areas including Auli-Badrinath Yamunotri in Uttarakhand today (March 15). Snowfall continued in the mountains while it is raining in the plains. Due to sudden change in weather, people once again felt cold. Especially in the mountains, severe cold started.

The Meteorological Department had predicted light rain in the mountainous districts of Uttarakhand. While a yellow alert was issued for winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in Dehradun, Haridwar and Nainital districts. Talking about the coming days, the weather is expected to remain like this till March 17.

Snowfall has been occurring since midnight around Yamunotri Dham and in the lower areas, it is raining intermittently. Temperatures dropped due to rain and snowfall.

For the past few days, due to bright sunshine in the plains, the maximum temperature of the day was increasing by three to four degrees from normal. The minimum temperature of the night also increased by around four degrees.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, there are chances of winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour across the state till March 17.
