Fire engulfs house, shop in Harsil
A residential house and shop located in Harsil market of Uttarkashi suddenly caught fire. On getting the information, the army, police and revenue department team reached the spot and somehow controlled the fire with the help of local people. But by then the fire had caused a lot of damage.
As per reports, late Friday night, Vijay and Harish’s 100-year-old wooden house in Harsil market suddenly caught fire. The fire was so horrific that it engulfed the house and shop in no time. On getting the information, the army, police and revenue department team reached the spot.
The team controlled the fire with the help of local people. On getting the information about the fire, a team was also dispatched from Fire Service Uttarkashi, Gangotri. The goods kept in the shop along with the house were burnt to ashes due to the fire.
Harsil’s village head have demanded the government and administration to provide financial assistance to the fire-affected family.
