New Orleans Car Attack Leaves 10 Dead, Dozens Injure

10 people were killed and 30 others injured when a car rammed into a crowd at Canal and Bourbon Street in New Orleans on Wednesday, the city’s emergency preparedness agency NOLA Ready said. New Orleans police had earlier said they were dealing with a mass casualty situation. NOLA Ready has advised people to stay away from the area. No information has been revealed yet about the arrest of the suspect. The mayor of New Orleans has described it as a ‘terrorist attack’.

The injured were admitted to the hospital

The injured have been admitted to five local hospitals. The incident took place at the end of New Year’s celebrations in New Orleans and just hours before the start of the college football quarterfinal Allstate Bowl held at the city’s Caesar Superdome, which was expected to be attended by thousands of people.
