BJP releases second list of 9 candidates

The BJP has released the second list of candidates for the Uttarakhand assembly elections on Wednesday. The party has announced candidates for nine assembly seats. The party’s state election in-charge Prahlad Joshi had already indicated that the second list would come on Wednesday.

In the second list, BJP has included Shaila Rani Rawat from Kedarnath, Rajpal Singh from Jhabrera, Munish Saini from Pirankaliar, Reetu Bhushan Khanduri from Kotdwar, Pramod Nainwal from Ranikhet, Mohan Singh Mehra from Jageshwar, Mohan Singh Bisht from Lalkuan, Jogendrapal Singh Rautela from Haldwani and Shiv Arora from Rudrapur have been declared candidates.

According to the second list, tickets of two more BJP MLAs have been cut this time. District President Shiv Arora has been made the candidate in place of Rudrapur MLA Rajkumar Thukral. Ritu Khanduri, MLA from Kotdwar, has been fielded. After General Khanduri, his daughter will also contest from Kotdwar. Khanduri had lost the elections in 2012. Surendra Singh Negi of Congress had defeated him.

Meanwhile, news is also coming that the decision on Tehri and Doiwala will come on Thursday. The reason behind this is that Kishor Upadhyay could join the BJP and if this happens, he can be declared a candidate from Tehri.
