Heavy rains predicted in parts of the state as monsoon arrives in Uttarakhand

Southwest monsoon has knocked in Uttarakhand with a delay of nine days. With this, the period of rain has started from the plain to the mountain including the capital. Along with the meteorologists waiting for the monsoon for the last nine days, people troubled by the heat have heaved a sigh of relief.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in Nainital, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh within the next 24 hours with the monsoon becoming fully active. Also an orange alert has been issued. Director of Meteorological Center and senior meteorologist Vikram Singh said that the southwest monsoon has knocked in the state.

Heavy rains are occurring in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Roorkee, Haridwar. In such a situation, there is a need to be vigilant in terms of disaster management in these districts. Meteorologists have predicted decent rain this year.
