Weather expected to be pleasant in Uttarakhand

After three days of rain in Uttarakhand, the weather remained pleasant in most parts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. There was bright sunshine in many places and there was presence of clouds in the sky at many places. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain clear in the state for the next eight to ten days. There will be no special activity or change in the weather.

The Meteorological Department has described the weather as favorable for traveling to the mountain. It is suggested that now travelers can plan to visit Uttarakhand. After the departure of monsoon from Uttarakhand on October 8, due to the effect of a western disturbance, the entire Uttarakhand received widespread rain for the last three days. The water level of the rivers had come near the danger mark. In Kumaon division, the rain caused havoc. Roads and bridges were damaged at many places in Garhwal and Kumaon.

The situation created due to a Western Disturbance as well as a low pressure area with extremely moisture from the Bay of Bengal caused severe rains in Kumaon. However, the havoc is over for now. The weather is starting to clear. At present, there will be no special weather related activity.

Temperature dropped due to rain, cold winds blowing

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, now the weather will remain dry in the state except in isolated cases. After the rains, the day and night temperatures have gone down in the mountainous areas. At some places, chilly winds are also making their presense felt, but warm sunshine can be enjoyed during the day. According to the Director of Meteorological Center Dehradun, Bikram Singh, there may be very light rain in some districts of Garhwal division on 23 and 24 October.

The weather will be dry for most of the time. On Wednesday, maximum temperature in Dehradun was 29.8, Pantnagar 25, Mukteshwar 14.6, New Tehri 20.8, Pithoragarh 16.9, Nainital 16, Mussoorie 21, Jolly Grant 30, and  24 degrees Celsius in Khatima.
