State wise rain forecast in Uttarakhand; orange alert issued
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in the entire state till August 24. Almost all the districts of Garhwal and Kumaon are expected to receive rain. There is also a possibility of lightning and thunder at some places in the mountainous areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy showers and heavy to very heavy rain at some places in the state on Saturday. On 22, there may be heavy showers and heavy to very heavy rain at some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain with heavy showers at some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar on 23rd.
On 24th, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy showers in the districts of Kumaon region and adjoining districts of Garhwal division of the state. According to the director of the Meteorological Department, Bikram Singh, there is a possibility of a decrease in rain by 25. In view of heavy rains, caution has been expressed in visiting sensitive places in the state, avoid traveling to hilly areas during rains, landslides, rock slides, road blockage, water logging in low-lying areas, overflowing rivers have been feared.
Heavy rain in the state
It rained at many places in the state on Friday. In Nainital 57.8, Bageshwar 64.8, Mussoorie 63, Ranichauri 32.2, Tehri 23, Dehradun 33.3, Mukteshwar 24.8, Pantnagar 18.4, Khatima 27, Almora 15, Chamoli 29.4, Pauri 17.4, Haridwar 26.7, Uttarkashi 16.3, Udhamsingnagar 18.8, Pithoragarh 41 and in Rudraprayag 18.9 mm rain was recorded.
Temperature dropped due to rain in Doon
Normal life was affected in Doon due to several hours of rain on Friday. It had started raining heavily since early morning. Which continued for seven to eight hours continuously. However, later the speed of the rain decreased. There were several spells of light and moderate rain in the afternoon as well. It was raining somewhere even till late in the evening. Doon recorded up to 15.3 mm of rain on Friday. At the same time, the maximum temperature dropped by four degrees Celsius. The total temperature was 25.4 and the minimum temperature was 23.6 degree Celsius. Light to moderate rain, thunder, a few spells of intense showers may occur in Doon on Saturday. There is also a possibility of one or two rounds of heavy rain in some areas. The maximum temperature can remain around 28 and the minimum 24.
