Border forces in alert mode in Uttarakhand

The Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) are also in alert mode in Uttarakhand due to the growing tension between the India and China border. Security agencies are also very cautious. The state has around 350 km long border with China. Movement of army and ITBP has increased vigilance on the border in Uttarkashi and in Chamoli district.

The movement of army and ITBP is continuously increasing in Niti Valley of Chamoli district. According to the locals, the army used to have movement in this valley during the summer. But this time the movement of army and ITBP is more than normal days after violent clash in Galwan valley in Ladakh. People are being allowed to proceed after interrogation by checking vehicles going to Niti Valley at the Army Check Post. The locals usually did not require any investigation to visit the Niti Valley. But to go beyond Niti Gamshali an inner line permit is required. No one is allowed to visit the border area for tourism and mountaineering.

The movement of army vehicles continued in the border area on Wednesday night. Villagers along the border areas are also angry with the nefarious act of the Chinese army in the Galwan valley of Ladakh. In Uttarkashi too, the ITBP and army are fully supported on the China border.
