Corona testing in lab suspended as precautionary measure in Haldwani Medical College

The tesing of the corona sample in Kumaon region has been stopped. Testing at the virology lab of the Government Medical College Haldwani has been halted.

Due to which there is difficulty in getting the correct report of the corona sample test. In view of this problem, the work of testing of corona samples has been stopped in the laboratory since Thursday afternoon.

Due to this problem, samples of 918 Corona suspects from five districts of Kumaon have been stopped. It may now take an additional time of two to three days for the release of the test report of these suspects.

The Medical College has sent letters to the CMOs of all the districts asking them not to send samples of the Corona suspects. Principal of the Government Medical College, Dr. CP Bhaisora said that there is always a possibility of infection in the virology laboratory.

Work has been going on here for three consecutive months. The PCR machine reading the sample is not showing correct reading. Which may affect the report.

In view of this, the work of corona sample testing in the laboratory has been stopped until advance orders. Efforts are made to resolve this problem as soon as possible and restart the testing.

Samples can be sent to Dehradun

Samples of corona patients from Kumaon can be sent to Dehradun for examination. Principal Dr. CP Bhaisora told that the samples are completely safe. If more problems arise, then the samples could be sent to Dehradun for testing.

Increased risk for patients

It was already taking around three days when the report of the corona patients was released. If the lab is not restarted soon, the time may increase to five to six days.

In such a situation, the risk for suspected corona patients will also increase. On an average, 200 corona samples were being tested daily in the medical college.

This will not affect the investigation of Udham Singh Nagar district. Already, samples of suspected patients from the district were being sent to Delhi for examination.
