Uttarakhand faces vaccine shortage for 18+ age group

There is no vaccine in the state for 18 to 44 age group people. The vaccine is expected to arrive before the first week of June. At the same time, the people of over 45 age group category are getting the first dose of vaccine after the time of for second dose has been increased to 84 days.

The vaccine shortage has been in existence for 18 plus people for a some time in the state. After dragging for few days, the campaign could barely go on. There is no relief from the center at the moment. While money has also been deposited by the state for 1.40 lakh vaccine. Even after this, the vaccine have not been supplied.

Vaccination has stopped in most of the districts of the state for the age group of 18 to 44 years. Although a letter was sent on May 25 from the Director General of Health to the Covishield vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute for the payment of 1.40 lakh vaccines, the consignment of the vaccine has not yet arrived from the company.

This vaccine is to be administered to the age group of 18 to 44. The maximum consumption of vaccine is in this age group. Till yesterday the state had partially vaccinated 2189969 people.
