Admissions in UOU increase by 30 percent as compared to last year

There are only two days left for the admission process of summer session in Uttarakhand Open University. The online application process will close on the night of 30 November. So far, 30 percent more students have enrolled in different courses of the university as compared to last year. The claims of increasing trend of youth towards distance education towards government institutions also seem to be confirmed with the increase in the number of students of UOU.

UOU admission in-charge Dr MM Joshi said that the number of students has increased this year. He said that there have been 66,199 admissions in the summer session so far. Whereas, there were 46,013 admissions last year. It was informed that more than 20,186 admissions are the result of efforts being made by the University in the field of quality higher education. In Dehradun and Haldwani region, the number of students has been high before and this year too, the maximum number of students have come from these regions. Dr. Joshi said that students seeking admission can take admission online from the website uou.ac.in in the next two days.

In view of the circumstances arising out of Corona, the University extended the admission entry date. So that no student desirous of taking higher education is denied admission. The result of this is that more students have moved towards distance education. The work of sending study material is being done to the students who have taken admission from the University. Also, PDF and video lectures of students’ books are also available on the website.
