PNB increases FD rates

Punjab National Bank ie PNB, one of the largest public sector banks in the country, has decided to increase the interest rates on its fixed deposits. These increased rates have come into effect from today itself. PNB has increased these rates by about 30 basis points.

In the changes made today, according to PNB’s site, the interest rate has been increased for FD’s of duration from 271 days to less than 1 year to 5.80 percent. It was earlier 5.50 percent. At the same time, for the same period, interest for senior citizens will now be at the rate of 6.30 percent, which was earlier 6.00 percent. Apart from this, super senior people will now be given interest at the rate of 6.60 percent which was earlier 6.30 percent.

According to the information given on the site, the rates have also been changed for fixed deposits of one year to 665 days. For ordinary citizens, this rate has been increased from 6.75 to 6.80 percent. For senior citizens, the interest rate has been increased from 7.25 to 7.30 percent. At the same time, it has been announced to give 7.60 percent interest rate to super senior citizens instead of 7.55.

On fixed deposits ranging from 667 days to two years, general citizens will be given interest at the rate of 6.80 percent instead of 6.75, while senior citizens will get interest at the rate of 7.30 percent instead of 7.25. will be given. Along with this, super senior people will be given interest at the rate of 7.60 percent instead of 7.55.

While,  the interest rates have been increased on deposits from two years to three years. For ordinary citizens, it has been increased from 6.75 to 7.00 percent. For senior citizens, this rate has been increased from 7.25 to 7.50 percent. While the interest rates for super senior citizens have been increased from 7.55 to 7t.80 per cent per annum.
