Jal Survekshan 2022: 5 districts of Uttarakhand in top 100
In terms of ongoing works under Jal Jeevan Mission, five districts of Uttarakhand have come in the top 127 districts of the country. The Union Ministry of Jal Shakti has released the October ranking of all the states. However, the performance of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar has been poor.
Jal Shakti Ministry has started Jal Survekshan to encourage the works of Jal Jeevan Mission. The performance of Uttarakhand is looking better at the national level. There are five districts which have found a place in the high achiever category (top 127) of 75 to 100 percent coverage. There are six districts which have made a place in the achiever category of 50 to 75 percent coverage.
There are two districts which have joined the performer category of 25 to 50 percent coverage. Director of Jal Jeevan Mission Udayraj Singh said that recently the ministry has started this initiative to encourage. On the other hand, Mission Officer Mushfiq Mustafa says that the data feeding of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar is being done according to this survey. The performance of Uttarakhand will definitely show further improvement in the November report.
The numbers are given in five ranks in the hydrographic survey. The first is the front runner category, in which those districts are included, in which 100 percent work has been done against the target of Jal Jeevan Mission. The second high achiever category includes those districts in which 75-100 per cent work has been done. The third category of achievers includes those districts in which 50-75 percent work has been done. The fourth category of performers includes those districts in which 25-50 percent work has been done against the target of October. The fifth category of aspirants includes those districts in which only 0-25 per cent work has been done.
These districts are among the top 127 in the country in the 75-100 percent coverage category.
