Government planning to start heli services to Badrinath

There is good news for the pilgrims going on Chardham Yatra next year in Uttarakhand. Like Kedarnath Dham, devotees will soon be able to visit Badrinath Dham in a helicopter ride of few minutes. It is the planning of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami government. The Civil Aviation Department is preparing to start shuttle heliservice for Badrinath Dham from next year 2023 on the lines of Kedarnath.

The department has sought opinion from helicopter companies for this. After the completion of this year’s Chardham Yatra, Secretary Civil Aviation Dilip Jawalkar discussed preparations for next year with the representatives of Heli companies at the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) office on Saturday.

The department’s three-year contract with the companies for heli operations in Dham has ended this year. Therefore, now along with fixing the contract afresh, the passenger fare will also be fixed. The department will soon start its tender process. During the meeting, the department sought opinion from the heli companies on the operation of shuttle heli service for Badrinath Dham as well.

To which the companies responded positively. In the meeting, opinion was also sought from the companies on chartered heli service for both the dhams.
