Snowfall in Pithoragarh peaks decreases temperature in the region

It was partly cloudy in the capital Dehradun on Friday. Due to which the temperature has dropped significantly. However, after ten o’clock in the morning, there was sunshine in the capital. At the same time, there is snow on the peaks around the city of Pithoragarh.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain and snowfall today. Heavy snowfall has also been reported in Munsiyari area of ​​Pithoragarh district. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to be 16 ° C and the minimum temperature is 6 ° C.

There was sunshine in Nainital, Almora, Rudrapur, Chamoli, Vikasnagar, Haridwar. Most areas, including Didihat, are cloudy. Rishikesh was mildly cloudy. Cold winds continue to wreak havoc here. After rain and snowfall in Uttarkashi, there was lukewarm sun today. The altitude areas of Gangotri and Yamunotri region here were littered with snowfall. The movement of vehicles on the Gangotri and Yamunotri highway has been smooth since morning.

The weather was bad from Rudrapayag to Kedarnath. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall. Kedarnath and Chopta received snowfall late on Thursday. It was sunny in Chamoli district, but there was fog in the valleys here. The district is in the grip of bitter cold. There was also mild snowfall in Mukteshwar.

Aerial lightning in Nainital

At around 7 pm on Thursday, celestial lightning struck several houses in the old Bindu Khatta of Nainital. Due to which the roof, wall, electric meter, TV, wings of many residential houses have been damaged. In the above connection, the local people have requested the administration to compensate the loss suffered by the affected families.

District Magistrate directed to arrange bonfire at designated places

Like Thursday, it was cloudy in Dehradun on Friday. In view of the increasing cold, the District Magistrate has given instructions to arrange the bonfire at the designated places. He has asked the local bodies in the municipal corporation and rural areas to arrange the necessary wood for the bonfire.

The District Magistrate directed the homeless and those sleeping on the footpaths to shift into night shelters. He has also asked the subordinates to keep a constant watch on this system. So that there is no untoward incident in the city. He instructed the Municipal Corporation and the Tehsil Administration to visit the footpaths at night also to ensure that people sleeping here are sent to the night shelters.

Snowfall in all the four dhams of Uttarakhand

On Thursday for the third consecutive day in Chamoli district, Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, Rudranath, Nanda Ghunghati as well as Mana and Neeti Valley received heavy snowfall. The Joshimath-Auli, Joshimath-Malari and Gopeshwar-Mandal-Ukhimath motorways have been blocked by the snowfall. Fresh snow has accumulated about five inches in Badrinath Dham and up to one feet in Hemkund Sahib.

Snowfall fell in Uttarkashi district including Yamunotri, Gangotri Dham followed by snowfall in Harshil, Mukhba, Dharali, Sukki, Kharsali and Harkidoon Valley and rain in the lower valleys, which has increased the cold in the district. Elevated areas including Madmaheshwar, Tungnath and Chopta, including Kedarnath in Rudraprayag district received snowfall.

Intermittent snowfall continued throughout Kedarnath. By the evening, eight inches of new snow had accumulated here. Kedarnath already has more than five feet of snow. The maximum temperature was recorded at four and the minimum was 13 degrees Celsius below zero.
